얼마 전 Linsen North Road를 지나던 중, 접착제가 남긴 기이한 흔적들을 발견했다. 수없이 붙었다가 떼어지고, 다시 붙었다가 떼어진 자국들은 어느새 우연한 콜라주처럼 보였고, Abraham Cruzvillegas의 벽 콜라주 작업을 떠올리게 했다. 상상력을 조금 더 보태자면, Klimt의 The Kiss 옆에 등장하는 사각형 장식과도 닮아 있는 듯했다—물론 그만큼 낭만적이진 않지만.
이 접착 흔적들에는 여러 이미지의 파편이 남아 있다. 광고였을까? 광고가 아니었다면, 무엇이 그것들을 붙이게 만들었을까? 얼마나 자주 붙여지고, 또 얼마나 자주 찢어졌을까? 효과는 있었을까? 그 집은 결국 팔렸을까? 쉽게 지워지지 않는 이 흔적들은 수많은 포스터의 소멸을 증언한다. 벗겨지고 사라지면서도 여전히 남아 있는 것—한때 이미지였고, 여전히 이미지인 것들이다.
Chen I-Hsuen은 제18회 Taishin Arts Award 시각예술 부문 수상자이며, New York의 Pratt Institute에서 MFA를 취득했다. 그는 사진, 영상, 출판, 퍼포먼스, 전시, 설치를 아우르며 사진의 정의와 확장을 지속적으로 실험해 왔다. 2016 Taipei Biennial에 참여했으며, New York Photo Festival, Singapore International Photography Festival, Lianzhou Foto 등 주요 사진 페스티벌에서 작품을 선보였다. 그의 작품은 Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Kadist Art Foundation, New York의 MoMA Library에 소장되어 있다.

파란 크레용으로 적힌 글씨, 달리며 스쳐 본 하늘—요즘 내게 가장 가벼운 순간들이다. 만약 거리의 풍경이 색의 블록으로 이루어져 있다면, 서로 겹겹이 포개진 파란색으로 채워진 거리는 어떤 모습일까.
Wang Hsiang Lin은 이미지와 사운드 설치를 중심으로 작업하며, 삶의 경험을 바탕으로 개인과 세계의 관계를 자신과 환경 사이의 연결 속에서 사유한다. 최근 Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Berlin의 Bethanien Art Center, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts 등에서 개인전 및 단체전을 열었으며, 독일 Künstlerhaus Bethanien과 프랑스 Cité Internationale des Arts 레지던시에 참여했다. 제19회 Taishin Arts Award와 Follow Fluxus 2023에 노미네이트되었으며, 현재 Taipei에서 거주 및 활동 중이다.

Void ◌는 비어 있는 점을 가리키는 하나의 표식이다. 밤의 움직임 속에서 스케일에 대한 감각은 점차 해체되고, 사물과 세계 사이의 정렬은 흔들리며 순간적인 틈을 만들어낸다. 이러한 순간들은 일상의 선형적인 시간에서 이탈해, 연속과 정지 사이—아직 형태를 갖추지 않은 상태로 부유한다.
Cheng Chao-Jung은 디자이너이자 이미지 작업가로, 관찰과 배열, 그리고 일상적인 출력 행위를 통해 시각적 형식을 지속적으로 탐구한다.

가까운 미래, 버려졌던 것들은 황량한 풍경 속에서 다시 발견될 것이다. 침묵하는 경계는 여전히 작동한다—그것은 우리가 만든 것일까, 아니면 우리가 그에 의해 형성된 것일까? 연산의 배태 속에서 세계는 과거의 파편을 찾아낸다. 입자와 파동은 여전히 함께 접속된 상태로.
Li Hao는 사진을 사랑하면서도 의심하는 이미지 메이커다. 사진은 그를 해외 전시로 이끌었고, 그는 그 경험에 깊이 감사하고 있다. 그의 사유는 많은 것들이 끊임없이 반복되고 동시에 변화한다는 감각에서 출발한다. 제도권이든 언더그라운드든 경직된 흐름은 그를 자극하지 못한다. 어느 시점에 이르면, 모든 것은 느슨하고 자유롭게 대하는 것이 가장 적절하다고 그는 믿는다.

“Springbao Special Issue: Uncertified Copies” is a publishing and exhibition project initiated by Baishui, inviting artists I-Hsuen Chen, Hsiang-Lin Wang,Chao-Jung Cheng, and Hao Li to participate. Each artist edits their own photographic works, which are then collectively assembled into a single photobook.
Furthermore, every reader and viewer is invited to take part with their own hands—editing, folding, binding, and redefining the publication—together creating countless versions of “Uncertified Copies.”

Passing through Linsen North Road the other day, I noticed curious traces of adhesive left behind. These marks must have been torn and pasted, pasted and torn again, becoming a kind of accidental collage—reminding me of Abraham Cruzvillegas’s wall collages. With a richer imagination, one might even liken them to the square ornaments beside Klimt’s The Kiss… though perhaps not so romantic. The adhesive traces carry fragments of various images—advertisements, perhaps? If not advertisements, what compels them to be pasted? How often are they put up, and how often torn down? Were they effective? Did the house eventually sell? The stubborn residue bears witness to the fading of countless posters, peeling away yet persisting—images once, images still.
Chen I-Hsuen is the recipient of the 18th Taishin Arts Award in Visual Arts and holds an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York. His practice spans photography, video, publishing, performance, exhibition, and installation, continually experimenting with and expanding the definition and dimensions of photography. He participated in the 2016 Taipei Biennial and has exhibited at major photography festivals including New York Photo Festival, Singapore International Photography Festival, and Lianzhou Foto. His works are collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Kadist Art Foundation, and the MoMA Library in New York.

Words written in blue crayon, the sky glimpsed while running—these have been the lightest moments lately. If the streetscape were composed of blocks of color, I wonder what a street layered with overlapping shades of blue would look like.
Wang Hsiang Lin’s practice primarily involves image and sound installations. Her works often relate to life experiences, reflecting on the relationship between the individual and the world through connections between self and environment. Recent solo and group exhibitions include Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Berlin’s Bethanien Art Center, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. She has participated in residency programs at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Germany and Cité Internationale des Arts in France. She was nominated for the 19th Taishin Arts Award and Germany’s Follow Fluxus 2023. She currently lives and works in Taipei.

Void ◌ is a mark pointing toward an empty dot. In nocturnal movement, perceptions of scale gradually dissolve. The alignment between things and the world shifts, producing fleeting gaps. These moments detach from the linear measure of daily life, suspended between continuity and stillness, in a state yet to take form.
Cheng Chao-Jung is a designer and image practitioner who, through observation, arrangement, and the daily practice of printing, continues to explore visual forms.

In the near future, what has been abandoned will be rediscovered amidst desolation. Silent borders continue to operate—was it we who created them, or they who shaped us? Within the gestation of computation, the world finds fragments of its past, particles and waves still conjugated.
Li Hao is an image-maker who both loves and doubts photography. Photography once took him to exhibitions abroad, for which he is deeply grateful. His creative thinking stems from the sense that many things are always repeating, always changing. Rigid trends—whether institutional or underground—fail to inspire. At a certain age, everything is best approached with ease and freedom.
